Here we go – step one – Start with the room you use the most – probably your living room or family room. What is the first thing you see when you enter this room? Make sure that you have a cherished item in spot where you will see it often. When you see it, your mood will be lifted sending positive energy into the space.
How is your furniture arranged? You should create intimate conversation spots. Make sure the love seat and chairs are close enough to the sofa for comfortable conversation. Each seat should have a surface to rest a book, magazine or a drink. Have a combination of shapes – round items symbolize metal, squares – earth, rectangles – wood and triangles – fire. Aim for a mixture. Make sure the room is well lit. Light suggests energy. Metallic accessories or mirrors are alternatives to light sources to ‘create’ brightness. Think about the color – strong colors work well in public spaces of the home.
Next week – the dining room!
